Hyde, Jekyll & I Episode 3 - The Prodigal Son Returns

Episode 3 is a very Robincentric episode, which is a good thing since I am pretty sure that the writers want us to be confused over which of the personalities is our favorite.  We also learn that just because someone is nice does not make them loved.  And just because you are the "fake" personality, it does not make you any less real and complete in your own way.  Lines are blurred, emotions are engaged, and we viewers are finally able to connect with the second lead (who is also the first lead).  Hmmm, I feel some serious emotional confusion is in our future.

Hyde, Jekyll and I ep 2 - Two's Clues

December 6, 2012. Anyone know the significance of that date? Anyone? Bueller? If you don't know, well, I'll tell you. That was the day that Hyun Bin's military service ended. I had it marked on my calendar. I had a countdown clock

New Batch of Trailers for Blood and Ho Gu's Love

We have been so blessed by the kdrama gods this past month that I am almost afraid to ask for more, but "Please can these two dramas be fun too?"  Upcoming February dramas "Blood" and "Ho Gu's Love" have released some engaging trailers and I for one am hoping that the current drama magic that is producing so many wonderful kdramas will also sprinkle itself upon these as well.

Ouroboros Episode 1 - Revenge is Best Served Cold

I am a huge Shun Oguri fan, and being a fan, I personally have loved his workaholic ways this past year.  So when subs were available for episode 1 of his newest Ouroboros, I was ecstatic.  But little did I know that I would like it so much that I have been inspired to recap it each week.

Jekyll, Hyde, & Me Episode 1 - We Have A Biter

YAY! So excited for our new recapping project!  I know we have only been gone for a week after completing "Pinocchio", but for some reason it has felt like much longer.

Kmuse's Favorite Things: Airing Kdrama Edition

It seems like forever since I have done one of my "Kmuse's favorites" countdowns (at least one that has nothing to do with the end of the year) so I thought now is the perfect time to pop one out before I am obsessed with all things Hyun Bin.  Yup that is right, 24 hours til Hyun Bin's return to my TV.  WOOT WOOT!!!!!!  Prepare for the fangirling.  Oops, but I digress.  As I was wondering what my theme should be, I began to reflect how many amazing dramas I am watching right now.  Seriously!  What nation did we save in a past life to have so many stellar dramas start all at once?  So it was obvious that my first favorite things post of the new year has to be about my current crack dramas.  So without further ado, I give to you my top 5 favorite things about the current airing dramas.

Pinocchio 20: Happily Ever After

Hey all, Dongsaeng and Kmuse here to bring you the finale recap for the excellent kdrama "Pinocchio".  I personally am so thankful that the writers did not drop the ball at the end, but instead produced a strong, complete, and enjoyable ending.  No huge gaps were left and while I personally would have tweaked the focus here or there, the overall story was true to the end of its theme of family, justice, and ethical reporting.   We are going to switch things up a little since it is the finale (and more importantly a finale that we both enjoyed) so we will be co-writing this post.

Pinocchio ep 19: Revenge, Revelations, and Redemption

Here we are! Next-to-last episode of Pinocchio! So much good stuff to cover from all three episodes this week, so let's get started (if for no other reason than Kmuse is patiently waiting for me to get this done so that we can tackle that finale!)

Kmuse's Musings: My Current Favorite Actors & Their Classic Roles

I am at a loss to choose another time when so many kdramas were this good all at once.  You know how it goes, one or two are standouts while all the others range from "OK" to "What the crap were they thinking with this plot?"  But we have a huge amount of kdramas currently airing that I predict are going to become "classics".  Since I know that many of us find a new actor and then feel the urge to watch every kdrama they have ever done, I decided to help you with that task.  The following are some of the most popular actors currently filming and my top recommendation from their previous works.

Pinocchio ep 18 - A War Between Two Mothers

We have arrived to our final week with Pinocchio.  I, like many of you, can't believe that this drama is over since it seems like just yesterday that I was despairing over Dal Po's bad hair.  We have a busy week both in recapping and watching as the drama releases three episodes, so lets just jump into our top 7 so we can all hurry back to our tv's and watch 19. I know that I am impatient to see Crazy Chaebol mom get what she deserves.

Pinocchio ep 17: Grab a Raft! There's a Flood A'comin!

Can you believe that we are in the final homestretch of this drama? It totally caught me by surprise. I was just plugging along, not even paying attention as the episode numbers grew bigger and bigger and ever closer to that final #20. That's surely a sign of a good drama, right? When you don't even track how much longer until it's over. Almost like you just expect to go on and on indefinitely. But indefinite it is not, and that's okay. We will make sure to enjoy this final stretch and anticipate the big hurrah that the finale will certainly be.

Shine or Go Crazy: Why So Quiet?

In exactly 7 days (possibly 6 by the time I post this) the new kdrama "Shine or Go Crazy" will be airing.  I am guessing that many of you are confused as to what I am talking about since the PR for this drama has been so silent that I sometimes wonder what they are thinking over there at MBC.

My Love From Another Star on American Television

*Stands at a microphone on an empty stage* "Hello! My name is Jennie. I'm an author who loves Kdramas." *Microphone squeals so loud, the one person in the audience stands up and leaves*

*Looks off to stage left* "Um, Kmuse, maybe you should reconsider letting me on your blog?"

But seriously, I'm soooo thrilled to be on The Crazy Ahjummas today. This is like, a dream come true. I can't believe they even let me in the room, but here I am.
Now that we've gotten past the awkward introduction, let's get straight to the post. Because I'd rather talk about Kdramas, anyway.

One of the best things about Korean dramas is that, well…they’re Korean. There’s something really cool about watching a program in a different language, and learning about a new culture *cough* and chocolate abs *cough*.

Sometimes---not often---but sometimes, I wish the show was in English. Then I could walk away from the screen for half a second and not miss a single word. So I figured, hey, why not make that dream a reality? Sort of.

Let's get one thing straight from the start. The massively popular My Love From Another Star has been confirmed as an ABC remake. It's GOING to happen. I just don't want them to screw it up.

What's Next for The Crazy Ahjummas?

With the upcoming finale of Pinocchio (I know, I know, I am also sobbing as well) it will be time for Dongsaeng and myself to choose our next recapping project.  Due to the timing of the ending of our current project it was pretty much a forgone conclusion that we would pick this drama, but luckily it was the drama that interested us both to begin with.  So without further ado, I announce that we will be taking on the upcoming multiple personality drama "Jekyll, Hyde, and Me" to discuss, dissect, and probably disagree over.  Personally I think that having two bloggers recap the show will be great since then we can get two different views which matches the multiple personality theme.

Pinocchio Episode 16 - Back Where We Belong

I had a lot of conflicting emotions with this episode.  First there was giddiness, mostly because Dal Po in love is one of the cutest things ever, followed by crankiness, acceptance, and then enjoyment.  I wonder if there is an official stages list for Pinocchio episodes?  It feels like things are starting to wind down and then I realized........ WE ARE ALMOST DONE!
I don't know why I was thinking we had a lot of story left to watch, but we don't.  Next week is the last week (3 episodes will be aired to make up for the one missed for the award show) and then it is all over.  Now i am kind of sad since I have grown to expect my weekly Dal Po/In Ha fix.  But we are not finished yet so lets jump into my seven favorite moments of episode 16

Kill Me, Heal Me is killing it!

Dramarookie here to report on this year's first multiple personality drama to hit our screens. "Kill Me, Heal Me" got off to a rollicking, brisk, and mind-bendy start this week.

Cut the adjectives. It was SO! STINKIN! GOOD!

Sorry, everyone. That's my alternate blogger personality, Dramasnarky. She's got two settings. Sarcastic and Overenthusiastic. There's no middle ground with her.

I love this show. SO! STINKIN! MUCH!

Aren't you supposed to be the snarky one. Thus your name.

No need for snark when a show is killing it as good as this one.

Can't argue with you there. The way KMHM flips back and forth between tragic melo to black comedy just hits a sweet spot for me. It reminds me of a classic superhero story. Think The Hulk mixed with a dash of Superman, and a pinch of heart-wringing childhood trauma a la Bruce Wayne. All wrapped up in a comic straightjacket that keeps you laughing aloud in surprised delight. I've watched a lot of dramas in the past few years, and I've never seen one quite like this. Here's a few reasons you should be watching.

A few? Were we watching the same show? I could write a whole recap on the love-at-first-sight-while-wearing-a-stolen-leather-jacket-full-of-ecstasy scene.

Anyway . . .

My hero . . . heroes?

The Crazy Ahjummas End of Year Countdown - Best Dramas of 2014

There are just so many dramas out there that I want to talk about.  So many great moments and characters that I learned to love.  How can one just whittle the list down to a small handful of options.  It's impossible.  So instead of doing the usual top 5  I decided to go all rebel and have 7 categories with my favorites listed within.  What?  Dramas are like my children, you can't just pick one over the other.

Compilation of all New Drama Teasers & Trailers for January and February.

I have been posting teasers as the come out on our FB page. However, all of you don't follow us on FB (if you want to look at the link below) so for those of you missing out on our info, I decided to just compile all the new teasers onto just one blog post for your easy viewing pleasure.  Feel free to let us know which one's you will be watching and whether the teasers changed your mind one way or the other.  I know that the teasers for Kill me Heal Me have especially made me more excited for it to air next week.

Kmuse's End of Year Countdown - Couples Edition

This is going to be super quick since I am falling behind and the end of the year is already upon us.  As it is, my best kdramas of 2014 will be my first post of the new year.  So without further ado, here are my favorite couples of 2014 - The abridged version.
